What is COCM?

Coptic Orthodox Christian Mission (COCM) is an initiative that applies historical principles. COCM preaches and lives the spirit of evangelism of the Coptic Orthodox faith based on the teachings of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ Who commanded His disciples to go “and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit.” (Matthew 28:19) The COCM department within the Diocese, under the care of His Grace Bishop Suriel, is a vehicle by which Coptic missionaries seek to establish and support the development of Coptic Orthodox Christian mission Churches across the diocese, and hence taking a holistic approach to the needs of those being served. COCM trains and sends missionaries to preach, teach, baptize and to minister to the poor, hungry, sick, suffering and orphaned. Its aim is to bring the light of Coptic Orthodox Christianity to those who are hungry and eager to know the Christian faith that was handed to the apostles once and for all, a faith that is genuine and has remained steadfast for 2000 years.
